NanoImaging Services
Founded in 2007 by Bridget Carragher and Clint Potter, both researchers and professors at the Scripps Research Institute, NanoImaging Services was created to help improve access to the emerging power of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Over nearly two decades, NIS established itself as a leader in cryo-electron microscopy, helping advance hundreds of therapeutic programs with high-resolution structural insights.

Proteos
Founded in 2003, Proteos built its reputation on providing high-quality recombinant protein production services to the life-science community. Acquired by NIS in 2025, Proteos operates from laboratories in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with decades of combined scientific experience in protein expression and purification.

Today, those complementary capabilities operate as a single scientific platform with facilities on both coasts and in the Midwest. By integrating protein production with cryo-EM across coordinated workflows, and adding new complementary capabilities, TrueCourse enables a seamless gene-to-structure workflow in 8-12 weeks, eliminating the multi-vendor handoffs that typically add weeks to a project and compromise sample integrity.
