Every target class has unique structural questions. Every modality has unique characterization needs.
Most programs do not stall because of limited choices in targets or therapeutic modalities. They stall because the structural and functional relationship between the target and the therapeutic has not been sufficiently characterized. That gap appears later as ambiguity in mechanism of action, unexpected behavior in downstream assays, or delayed go/no-go decisions.
